Thank you for the review. One of the best things about Fictiv is our People! Compassion for others is one of our core values and our team does a great job representing that. We have been discussing minimizing meetings and designating days without and prescheduled meetings. Though we value communication, we also understand to many meetings can be disruptive. More to come! Thank you for all that you do. Regards, Director of PeopleOps

Pros

I do think that at one time, Fictiv was a relatively good place to work in terms of furthering your career and making impact quickly on a smaller/scrappier/more iterative team. I don’t believe that is still the case.

Cons

A review I read on here pretty much nails it. There are not very many people of color at Fictiv (a handful) and any that are leave very quickly (POC that have been at Fictiv for a while have slowly been trickling out.) One of the most damaging situations in my opinion was rumors of a male higher up in the organization that had multiple allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him. I will say that although I didn’t work with him closely, I walked out of every interaction with him feeling distinctly uncomfortable (he would dole out every micro-aggression against women in the book). I made a note to avoid him when I could. These rumors went on for almost a year...the fact that he was kept on for as long as he was says something about Fictiv’s priorities. It’s the bottom line over the health, well being, and respect of their female employees. I do think Dave has a strange way of trying to bring up events that relate to POC. The Colin Kaepernick one was one of them. He related the “believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything” messaging to the company’s mission...which was mind blowing in its lack of awareness. I did notice that once we had an event at Fictiv (with other people outside of the office) the poster was taken down, which also says something about Fictiv’s priorities. I also agree about the Jean comments - I have witnessed her shredding people to pieces (I thought we were just so past that mentality in 2021? Haven’t we learned that these tactics don’t work?) Another thing to point out would be the nepotism. The 3 founders and people who have been at the company for the longest amount of time are siblings. And it shows. They all lead their respective parts of the org and sometimes it’s extremely difficult to work with them because it’s clear that regardless of how they act and the results they deliver, they are untouchable. My point is, there are better places to work. Places where you will be valued and where you will learn and have ample opportunities to grow. Places where you won’t feel like an other or because you aren’t valued because you are a woman or a person or color. And places where you can comfortably go to HR to find a solution and know you won’t be gaslighted. Do yourself a favor and put yourself first, don’t work at Fictiv. I can guarantee you that many former employees feel the same way and are aligned on what the core issues are at Fictiv.

Let me start by thanking you for your review. We value all our current and former employees’ feedback. Whether it is through our monthly work culture surveys, weekly 1-on-1’s, exit interviews, or our ERG, we are always looking for feedback on how we can make meaningful changes to ensure that diverse voices across our employees are heard and represented. At Fictiv, we continuously strive to create an environment where every employee feels valued and included in decisions, opportunities, and challenges. An environment that welcomes and respects each employee, and allows each of us to be our authentic best selves every day. While we are early in our DEI journey, we are making a significant investment now in this work so that it can shape the company, our people, and our culture as we scale. All in, I am sorry that your experience here was unsatisfactory and that we let you down. Please feel free to seek me out if you would like to talk further offline. Pros

There was plenty of potential for positives, but very little came to fruition.

Cons

Of the many companies that I've worked that, Fictiv is by far the most disappointing. The interview process was straightforward and the people seemed genuinely focused on building a culture as much as building the company itself. However, upon starting, it was very quick that there was very little support around you. I know turnover is relatively high in sales positions (when compared to other departments), but it truly seemed like the higher ups viewed sales people as completely expendable. Marketing was, by and large, owned by one person and one person alone - there were plenty of voices on that team but they were routinely drowned out, overpowered, and ignored in favor of nepotism. Operations had good contributors, but the many complaints and workplace issues were by and large brushed under the rug. Customer Support employees were under-appreciated and always stressed (this, on its own, isn't abnormal, which is a problem in general). Leadership was very unsupportive of its employees. Every single day, peers would talk about how they were thrown under the bus, yelled at for things out of their control (or not even within their job expectations), and more. The CEO was inspirational... until he wasn't. Other leaders were extremely hostile, even to people that didn't work for them in any way. The marketing department lost its lead in 2019 and the position was never filled again. Instead, someone without marketing knowledge filled in temporarily and, as a result, the team fell apart. I do think certain leads were positive leaders and created good environments for their employees, but not nearly enough. Overall, Fictiv talked a big game and delivered on very little. They claimed to care about diversity and inclusion, but often ignored the issues and complaints of those minority and female employees. Hiring feedback was, in most cases, completely ignored. All of this summed up to employees feeling like the company didn't care about them.
