Pros

With respect to the changes being made due to the economic downturn, through 2008 the benefits package was outstanding in my opinion. Health care was well covered. Salary, bonus and profit sharing was a nice combo. Additionally, the work/family balance was very nice and there was a high level of flexibility. I also liked the number of community volunteer activities that you could choose from.

Cons

It had become a bloated company with too many senior level people (a number without staff to manage). Additionally, I believe the review process could use overhauling (mixed signals on ratings/ranking) coming from HR and the department management.

Pros

Privately owned, provides flexibility. Great benefits but getting weaker. Good individual technology, blackberry, laptop, etc. Lots of smart, hardworking people there. Well known name, brand recognition. Morally responsible people for the most part with minimal backstabbing.

Cons

Ownership has let too many outsiders come in and has not protected internal employees. Many top leaders have been allowed to leave. This is completely opposite their prior approach. People have to work very hard to succeed with little reward or recognition. 55-60 hour weeks are not uncommon and are expected. Management does not prioritize and simply jump from one focus to the next with no continuity. They do not allow an idea or effort to develop and show results. Refuse to ask the hard question and demand results. They are drowning under the weight of their own size and becoming more bureacratic by the day.
