Pros

Good pay and benefits. Excellent 401k plan with 7% matching and 10% profit sharing. Remote work options for many. Fidelity knows how to make money. Strong bottom line.

Cons

Depending on the group, you could be working a good amount of time: averaging 50+ hours per week. Can be very slow in receiving promotions. You need to be prepared to specify your accomplishments in detail during promotions. Do not be shy. Expecting management to recognize your worth and reward you for it can many times leave you behind and frustrated. Yes, speaking from experience.

Pros

I loved the people with whom I worked, they are a smart and talented group.

Cons

The culture is a bit straight-laced especially when compared to newer companies run by generation X or younger people. Also, it's a mutual fund company first and foremost. The company has a history of technical innovation but they aren't a tech company so it seems like technical teams are hit hard when the markets contract.

Pros

Good benefits The people you work with are really nice Lots of locations if you want to move around and travel

Cons

Management are non technical. The software delivery process is costly and very poorly run. There is no freedom in technology selection or career direction. The people who do the work are rarely rewarded. Promotions are given almost exclusively to people in management positions.
