Pros

Decent place to work and if you find a great manager to work for, there are several at 5/3rd, then consider yourself lucky. The bank holidays are a bonus and typical business hours aren't bad either.

Cons

The company raised the minimum salary for the frontline staff but after that, if you're not a manager or upper executive, expect a 2-3% raise annually while the bank makes billions annually. They continue to cut back on benefits too with severe increases each year to the cost of retaining benefits.

Great hours, median pay

Pros

Work hours are standard retail banking hours (9-5 or 10-7) and every other Saturday. Base pay is good for retail banking at a bank this size.

Cons

They have a confusing bonus structure which makes it very difficult to estimate your bonuses. It is a rapidly changing industry but this is one of the most risk averse banks to work for. Customer options become extremely limited in any sign of economic uncertainty.
