Pros

None, this is the worst job I've ever had

Cons

If you're in the Tampa Bay/Orlando market and you're looking at an opportunity as a Portfolio Manager at Fifth Third in North Florida, save yourself the horrors and run screaming. The worst leadership of any bank in the entire state, the sales vertical is about as vile as they come, (specifically Orlando). You have no idea, in the 20 years I've been doing this, I've never seen this kind of behavior from a RM. This place makes Truist look like Shangri-La If you interview ask how many people have resigned from the credit solutions team in the last 24 months. The culture is toxic and fear based. The systems have to be the worst in their peer group. You think where you work now is bad, just wait. The amount of rework and nit natty tedium is beyond the pale. You can expect to be gaslit with impunity Health insurance sucks

Pros

Fifth Third Bank offers a solid foundation for individuals looking to grow in the financial services industry. The company invests in employee development through regular training, upskilling opportunities, and mentorship. The branch environment promotes teamwork, and I appreciated the customer-centric approach that encouraged relationship-building rather than just transactional service. Flexible scheduling and strong support from direct managers helped create a positive day-to-day work experience.

Cons

At times, the workload can feel unbalanced, especially during peak hours or when the branch is understaffed. There’s also a strong push toward sales and performance metrics, which can add pressure if you’re in a role that leans more toward service than sales. Communication between corporate and in-branch teams could be improved, particularly when rolling out new procedures or systems.
