Great first job experience

Pros

Embraces diversity - strong LGBTQ community (many left now). Hiring - Great first job (or first year) experience. Flexibility to hire your child or ex-colleagues even though they do not have the right matching skill set. This company values trusted work relationship. My co-worker was re-hired after being laid off since their parent is a manager. Grit among competition - The company is apparently the leader in human labeling and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) marketplace. Our product and engineering teams are rapidly catching up with full stack Machine Learning solutions (which are actually using IBM Watson apis under the hood, as learned from recent lunch-and-learn session).

Cons

WFH benefits - I read from recent LinkedIn posts from a co-worker about unreasonable restrictions (e.g. must be very responsive on slack if working from home - slack is used as performance indicator) about recent timeoff and telecommuting discussion. Morale issues - Persistent morale problems in the past 12+ months due to a variety of reasons ranging from sudden departure of all C-suite executives and some leaders/diversity advocates, and layoff. Current leadership team / interim CEO say how much they love the company, and say the company is on the right course - people continue to disappear. Career opportunities - Recruiters noted more than 40% employees are actively looking for jobs based on their LinkedIn profiles. Some of my co-workers have 6 managers in the past 12 months. A few new recruits are directors and thus our promotion from within opportunities are blocked.

Pros

- Management is transparent about everything - Everyone is more than willing to help if you ask. The overall mentality is "If you win, the company wins" - You will be acknowledged for your achievements - Phenomenal product -- Many different use cases, constantly improving or adding functions. Makes it exciting to talk to anyone about - No micromanagement - Benefits are top shelf - Free catered lunch + snacks - Dog-friendly office - Great company swag - Flexible schedule -- Work from home whenever you want, as long as you complete what's expected from your role - Great compensation - The CEO, VPs, and Directors are incredibly approachable. They are almost always open to have a conversation with you and will make time when they can - Nice new office

Cons

- Some teams can be cliquey at first, but after being there for a while everyone eventually opens up - Training is intense. Get ready to have your brain turn to mush for the first two months. However, they equip you with everything you need to know about the product and company - Interview process could be more refined, it's somewhat lengthy and can be messy - A small percentage of people come off as arrogant and can be difficult to work with

Pros

Cool office, solid benefits and competitive pay. Plus management is all pretty experienced so they have a good approach of patience with experience to drive the company forward. Plus the personalities and company culture is truly awesome. Everyone is nice, open minded and intelligent.

Cons

Not a whole lot, just nit picky stuff like sometimes too many meetings or better inter team communication.
