Pros

Lots of smart people, tough problems to work on, snacks, no vacation policy, right next to bart.

Cons

Management couldn't make up their minds, which led to massive layoffs. Complicated product -- difficult to explain what Crowdflower is to others. I always felt a little off about working here, too, because the people we paid to do tasks were paid so little. When everyone left for Burning Man, I was the only engineer around to work.

Great concept but poor execution

Pros

The product has the potential to be truly great. The ability to connect to over 5 million contributors to perform work is a mind-blowing concept. Unfortunately the company has been around for over 5 years and still can't get this right. Bugs and problems with the product has led to a large churn in the customer base.

Cons

Execution. Leadership is seriously lacking at this company. Who let's go of half of the company after raising a round c? This is actual the 5th time a massive layoff has happened at crowdflower. Don't expect to be around at the company if they miss one or two targets.

Pros

Really enjoyed working with my boss, my peers, and my direct reports. Crowdflower really benefits people who otherwise have limited access to work otherwise, and that helps sustain interest. The benefits are excellent, the workplace has a good work/life balance.

Cons

Substantial structural problems in company and software. Do not raise any issues with upper management if you expect tenure.
