Pros

none that I can think of

Cons

It is all hypocrisy. They talk about putting the customer first but all they care about is the money

Take your time to really evaluate the company before joining

Pros

Finastra is probably okay for someone in the early stages of their career or someone who requires/like a lot of manager oversight.

Cons

Finastra is not the place for someone who values their mental and physical well-being. Expect to be all consumed by your role leaving little time for other things that are important to you. Here are a few things to consider prior to joining: - Global companies operate around the clock and so must you. Sleep or down time comes second to the needs of the company, including weekends. - Have a rare weekend trip coming up? Be prepared to work with minimal consideration for your personal time. - You will spend your typical working hours easing the minds and pumping up the egos of your managers and then when they have signed off or left for the day, you will have the opportunity to get some real work done. - Some office locations are depressing, not the location itself, but the negative attitudes of the people who occupy the space. Ask for a tour of the office when you interview and look at the faces of people at their desks. - Do you like to operate autonomously or have your work dictated/directed by others? If the former, Finastra's culture will likely not jive with your work style. - Do you prefer expressing your opinion or having your manager speak on your behalf and then giving you the opportunity to fill in the gaps? If the former, Finastra's culture will likely not jive with your work style. I could go on, but I won't. Remember, interviews are soundbites and participants are curated by the organization. New opportunities are exciting particularly if you are looking to change a current situation. Talk to as many people as you can and observe your surroundings before signing on the dotted line.

Pros

Want leverage for better offers? Finastra India is for you. Family Emergency ;-) Too easy to use Finastra to get that competing offer. Getting too bad and they will cut and run out of town.

Cons

Best and brightest recently laid off en masse. Ownership and execs do not care. Goal is to cash out or be promoted out before it collapses on you. Back up is your division becomes a tax write off. Either way there's no future. Can kiss your hopes of meaningful raises and career advancement opportunities good-bye as management said anyone with 1/2 a brain can do these jobs. Friends in India, trust me. Prepare to carry the heaviest work loads. Do all the dirty work. See nothing in return and be chewed and spit out at the end.
