Pros

At times employees can get good deals and first pick of merchandise.

Cons

Lunch times are given as these can be verified by corporate when checking each employee's clock in/out times, unless altered by supervisors/management. Break times are an entirely different situation. There are no records being kept and breaks are frequently not given. The reasons for not allowing breaks? "It's too busy now, there's a lot of customers in the store." "It's too slow now. There are other things that can be done." "It's within an hour of closing time." A recent example: A relatively new employee did not get any breaks or lunch until 6 hours after he started work. He was finally able to take a lunch. Maybe 1 break after that? I only saw him sit down once. I have had to often beg for a break, which management will often deny or joke about. This is a hostile work environment. I have had to call corporate twice about this matter which effect has lasted about a week or two, then it's back to little or no breaks. Looks like I may have to call L&I. Not sure if other employees have taken any action or complained. Too bad for them if they're too scared to open their mouths. As an added note: We were told that if any employee has more than 2 weeks vacation due, then any remaining vacation time must be taken separately and cannot be lumped together, paid or not paid. Supposedly corporate made this decision. Really? What if there are family matters that need to be taken care of out of state?
