      This is an excellent job for people seeking a part time job with a flexible schedule.

      Pros

      Paid Training. Good pay with flexible schedule. This is an excellent job for parents with school aged children. This is an excellent job for college students who need employment that will allow them to work around their class schedule. This is an excellent job for retirees who want to work but not work full time. If you are eligible you can collect unemployment (NYS) during school breaks.

      Cons

      There are no medical benefits provided by the employer, you can purchase them through the employer, but they are expensive. There are no paid sick days, personal time, or vacation days outside of the school calendar.

      Awesome people to work with. Newer school buses used.

      Do not compensate well for people in management positions and no training is given for the management positions.

      District supports drivers. Decent benefits for part time employees. Being a charter bus hub offered extra work.

      Cons

      Inadequate, non-experienced management placed from First Student just to have a body in the position. No recourse or even response from First Student corporate HR when student's conduct becomes criminal against drivers or any other issue for that matter. Bully atmosphere allowed. Mandated safety standards not always followed i.e, overcrowding. Mechanics bus maintenance and experience questionable.
