Pros

People generally are nice and some are pretty talented.

Cons

If you don't know the right people it doesn't matter about the quality of your work or your skills, you probably won't get promoted, at least for a very long time.

Pros

Work/life balance is pretty good for corporate positions. Job security is high for core utility T&D functions. Easy to get to know many co-workers due to slim staffing across the board.

Cons

Bad luck on the generation side & poor management decisions led to many cut-backs and low morale; much knowledge was lost through early retirements and not replaced. Top executives are lifers who have their head in the sand regarding climate change, EPA regulations, and other changes coming to the utility industry. Many workers are bitter as a result of various mergers over the years and perceived downward trajectory of the company. Northeast Ohio leaves a little to be desired, due to the negativity of the people there and poor weather.

Pros

Nice desks, other non supervisory employees are very friendly.

Cons

Awful, you are micromanaged every SECOND of the day by all the supervisors and the hiring process is not fair.It is based on the favories getting hired first no matter what your stats are. No set hiring standards followed by all supervisors.Expect that when you are a contractor(temp worker) that you will be the ones that have to come in and work all holidays because they don't want to to pay the employee rate. Also alot of lazy power station supervisors that woukd rather talk about people ,rather than doing their job and answering questions that they are suppose to answer.
