Pros

* alignment to a strong value set across the whole company. Values aren't just written on walls ( and they are ) , they are interspersed in daily life, taught in bootcamp sessions, and evaluated through interview and perf periods * true tech driven company within healthcare field * incredible, smart, caring coworkers who like each other * internal mobility and ability to move across tech stacks and problem areas * internal growth is promoted * culture of transparency

Cons

* There is more meaningful and interesting things to be done than time during the day, accompanied with a high degree of autonomy for teams and individuals. This may make it difficult to manage the workload for someone who is enthusiastic about the problems that need solving

For the first time in my life, I love my job.

Pros

- The people making the mission happen are the best I've ever gotten to work with: I fully expect never to find better co-workers in any future job that I have. - The projects and output actually move the needle in terms of making a difference in the field, and progress can actually be measured. - There is no room for egos or pretentious people here: It's refreshing to work in a place in oncology where *everyone* is expected to receive critical/constructive feedback and always be working to improve themselves and their work.

Cons

- The quick pace can be hard to adjust to for some, so I only recommend this job to people who are willing to experience personal growth as well as professional. - You must be great at personal time management, period. It's so easy to get sucked into the exciting projects, and forget that you too have a life outside of this organization.

Pros

I feel so lucky to be working at Flatiron as my first software engineering job out of college. At Flatiron, I've found a tremendously supportive culture, which coupled with the great intelligence of the employees, makes for excellent learning opportunities. It is also great to work on such important problems at Flatiron, and know that that is important to every member of the company. Overall, I've been so happy with my experience at Flatiron.

Cons

Hmmm, I suppose for someone who is used to/wanted to work at a very large company (i.e. Google, Microsoft), there may be certain aspects of Flatiron that might not be what they hoped for just due to the size and age of Flatiron. But I also feel like Flatiron's size and growth offers a lot of new opportunities and benefits. So really just depends on what you're looking for.
