Pros

The agency has a solid reputation in the PR space.

Cons

There is no real talent development function at the firm and extremely limited opportunities to utilize your talents unless you happen to be in a select, elitist group of individuals. Since leaving FH, I have implemented more robust systems and programs in companies that are 10% of the size of FH, but because of FH's culture and Omnicom's level of control over the firm, there was no ability to move forward with initiatives at FH that really could have moved the needle.

Pros

President is transparent with employees about state of the business.

Cons

Potential employee beware. FH will gas you up during interviews and onboarding, only to throw you to the wolves and leave you to fend for yourself. If you live for 60 minute meetings on Teams that could be easily reduced to a 15 minute stand up, FH is the place for you. This agency loves aggressively long and useless meetings - because they’re billable. Do you love the sound of your Teams chat going off at 9pm at night? Apply right away. And if you enjoy contradictions, then you will love their learning and development offerings. “Leading with Clifton Strengths” when senior leaders bully team members who are 8 months pregnant and HR doesn’t do a lick about it. This place is in need of a Jon Taffer style rescue. Current employees, just one piece of guidance for you: watch your back and trust no one.

Pros

You'll eventually have a last day - either your decision or theirs.

Cons

This firm could be equal to other large, holding company PR agencies for those at the entry-level, but pay attention to red flags and signals for anyone else. For experienced practitioners, be extremely cautious. This is a firm with tenured senior leadership who are reluctant to listen to new ideas, approaches or a modern culture of flexible work, enthusiasm or creativity. Winning at internal politics is valued more than the work, there is a severe lack of understanding of what earned media is and how it works, and a creative approach that is centered on ego, awards and not clients or actually doing something that excites or entices a consumer. While the agency business is cutthroat and political, FH takes this and supercharges it.
