Pros

Was for the most part easy to get days off if you need to.

Cons

No company discount. I think its gross to have to clean the restroom then go ring customers up I don't care I can wash my hands a million times and to me its nasty. Hated when people didn't show up countless times you was left pulling double shifts or it looked bad on you and not the actual person that called out. I worked as a cashier service lead and office assistant and trained people. Very annoyed when I would hear cashiers complain they are only making 8.50 a hr but yet I do more and have been there for 4 years and make 7.75 no raises in 4 years is why I left that place. I can't think of how much i lost in raise pay that I should have got in 4 years. No advancements unless you where a kiss butt or was pretty might just be my sexist store manager.

Pros

Training doesn't last long maybe a few days, I can't think of too many pros other than getting alot of hours if you actually do your job.

Cons

If you do your job well, they will run you over. Which is ironic. When management comes in (corporate) it is insane how quickly the managers will become "experts" at the rules and regulations etc etc when they never follow them otherwise. Dreaded when corporate visited. Very uppity people.

Pros

They are flexible with your work schedule, which works out great if you're in school. Being a cashier is an easy job, very repetitive though. Benefits are alright you receive paid time off (vacation) and holiday pay.

Cons

Eh, low pay and not much room for advancement. Maybe one step above working for a fast food chain. They'll hire anyone and people often come and go, they don't stay long for a reason. You'll be doing more than what you're getting paid for; and if you do get promoted to office assistant, the raise will not be worth the responsibility. Only a "select few" are permitted to work full-time. Everyone else as a cashier will be part-time. My advice: If you plan on working here make sure it's temporary.
