Pros

New CEO seems focussed on giving the company a well needed "facelift!" Very focussed on strategic planning and improving the environment overall. Generous discount Financially stable

Cons

Very "flat" organization with a lot of tenure...that is people have been there 30-40 years and aren't leaving and there are only 3 levels of management and no levels in job titles i.e. Senior Developer or Developer I, II, III. No promotions are ever given because no one ever leaves the managment jobs. As a result most employees lack any drive because they know there is no hope for advancement or recognition. Change adverse organization, old technology, minimal formal processes, very reliant on vendors, minimal to no innovation-logos, stores and websites need facelifts. Marketing across stores should be a focus. But again, change is in the air!

Pros

Cuting edge product with truly global brand. They KNOW retail and you will emerge with a grasp of the process. The brand is an icon.

Cons

It's not the place to stay and try to grow a career from scratch. You won't be compensated enough to really support a growing lifestyle in NYC. Opps for advancement are there if you're willing to try new departments. They reward loyality. If you stick around for 5 - 10 years, you may see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Pros

The pros are that I have complete responsibiltiy as an Assistant Manager as far as running the store, having keys to the store, everything you can imagine as far as being a manager for a retail store.

Cons

Where do I start. I'm underpaid barely making more than minimal wage, the commission is terrible espcially if you work in a low volume store such as I do. You are still part time and can not work any more than 25 hours a week which means no benifits besides an employee discount which I rarely use since I dont want to give my money back to the company like that. Too much responsibilities expected from you and not being fairly paid enough for what is asked of you.
