Pros

> Global technology leader > Good work life balance and fun culture > Unlimited free 3D Printing > Diverse in some areas > Good company outings

Cons

> Leadership acts more on gut feel than on hard data > C suite often would micromanage day to day work of individual contributors > No clear product or company strategy > Insanely high attrition rates > Very low compensation compared to the rest of the industry and miserly spending policy > Very little racial diversity > If you enter an established team you can find them to be quite cliquey and hard to break into

Pros

Formlabs is a great place to sharpen and hone skills for young engineers. People leave here with a resume that will look fantastic if they put the work in.

Cons

- Poor upper management and project management. No one learns from the mistakes made in the past. We see many of the same mistakes when launching repeated product after product. Timelines are never realistic, so we end up totally redoing them with a new (still unrealistic) timeline. - Pay is poor, especially for Boston. Management tries to sell the stock options as being worth the difference, but options don't pay rent and are a gamble at the end of the day. Engineering turnover is very high as a result. One of the top themes across the company is that people aren't happy with pay and benefits (no 401k match, no bonuses, are sticking points for some for example). This has been true for several years, and every year we get the same response: "This is an active item we're working to remedy". - Part of the issues with management, scope is never properly defined. What a person's responsibilities are, who owns certain aspects of product development, etc. As such things constantly fall through the cracks or end up with several people doing redundant, overlapping work.
