Pros

- hybrid work schedule - some fancy new office building

Cons

- executives only care about $ not people - they only listen to their paid consultants, not their employees - Canadian CEO who is villainous - do not hire from within - layoff employees every year based on consultant recommendation - cut benefits every year - software systems are bad and no plan to fix - FBIN will lose lots of knowledge and talent due to Deerfield move, DO NOT start a job here, it will be very bad.

Heartless Leadership

Pros

Great people, pay, and benefits. I was hired a few years ago and I've never been more pleased with a company culture and I have the best supervisor I've ever had in my life.

Cons

I’ve been with Fortune Brands Innovations for several years, and it has been incredibly frustrating to witness the recent leadership decision made by CEO Nick Fink requiring all employees to relocate to Chicago within the next year. This move is disruptive, inconsiderate, and shows a lack of understanding of the diverse circumstances employees face. The decision to mandate such a significant change without regard to the personal, familial, and financial situations of staff is baffling. Many employees have established lives in their current locations and cannot simply uproot themselves on such short notice. It feels as though the leadership has forgotten that a company is built on the dedication and hard work of its people, not just the decisions made at the top. Additionally, this move appears to disregard the advantages of remote work, especially after seeing the success and increased productivity many teams have experienced during the pandemic. Forcing everyone into one location seems outdated and counterproductive in today’s increasingly flexible work environment. It raises serious questions about the company’s commitment to its employees' well-being and work-life balance. In short, Nick Fink’s leadership on this issue feels tone-deaf and fails to consider the realities of the modern workforce. Many talented employees may be forced to leave, and it's deeply disheartening to see the company take this direction. A more thoughtful, inclusive approach to team dynamics would have gone a long way in retaining the hardworking people who have made Fortune Brands Innovations successful. Stay away for at least 2 years! Also stay away if you don't live near Chicago!

Pros

The people actually doing work for the companies within Fortune are some of the best I've worked with.

Cons

Fortune Brands as a parent company has absolutely ruined this entire organization. The CEO chose to relocate every single salaried office worker in the US (with rare exceptions) to Deerfield, IL. You either move or get laid off. We've had dozens of new team members start in December and January, and then they pulled the rug out from under them. I even heard a few people who started with the company at Moen only 9 days before the announcement. This company and its CEO have eroded all trust. Coming here should only be an absolute last resort. All those who are left are completely disengaged now, and the office mood is about on par with a funeral home.
