As everywhere, myopic bosses, third rate communication abilities. Middle manager cliques and elites regardless of ability and performance, zero thought for people.
None of them even showcases your talent to higher leadership. They waste time meant for the doers and then scurry around to fulfill doable projects in un-doable timelines all the while promising their respective superiors the moon.
Mind you, the core leadership is far more organized and plans for these projects with generous timelines. It's the senior & middle management that manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The company is survived only by it's doers at the lower management and the executive levels.
No employee is free from the fear of being fired if he speaks the unvarnished truth to senior and middle management.
HR is hand in glove and complicit in their bid to stem the tide of complaints reaching the leadership. No HR audits have been conducted for years altogether. Middle and Senior management self certify compliance with the stated values and policies of the organization. Third party audits are a joke, they are deliberately kept limited in scope and reach. Flagrant breaches of basic employee oriented policies are covered up.
