Fourth is going downhill....fast

Pros

Fourth offers a great work life balance, with flexible working options and hybrid work models. The commission package linked to roles used to be very good with a real motivation to achieve sales.

Cons

In 2025 Fourth has gone downhill fast, cutting back on resources, commission packages and eventually announcing mass redundancies and replacing talented skilled teams with outsourced agency Filipinos. Undervaluing the power and knowledge of customer facing workers and the influence their relationships have on direct business relationships.

Still Sinking

Pros

Direct team and manager are amazing.

Cons

Some past reviews have mentioned that fourth is like a sinking ship and that remains true. Anyone above VP has lost the plot. This most recent round of layoffs has been the most tone deaf and jarring. And in my 8 years here there have been many rounds I have "survived". After already doing a round in June to outsource roles instead, more layoffs this week. Some happening a full day without any communication from upper leadership. Imagine coming in on a Monday morning to half a dozen coworkers accounts being deactivated and whispers of layoffs and not hearing a word through any official channels until the next day and then layoffs continuing for two more days. No communication on what departments are even affected, reaching out to try to still do your job is like a mine field not knowing who or even what teams are impacted. The company's plan appears to be to rely heavily on AI with no infrastructure for it set up and an outsourced team still getting up to speed and trying to trade that for product and industry knowledge. But I'm sure just putting our code into cursor will save us, who needs product knowledge when you have AI? Not that we have many openings now anyway with the RIF and hiring freeze, but if some open up I would think twice. This is a sinking ship, some rats are jumping now or getting dropped into the sea. The rest of us are stuck either from some misguided company loyalty, a delusional hope that maybe things will get better, or just don't have the stomach to get out into the tumultuous waters of the saas industry as it is now. I find myself in a mix of the last two categories. Maybe we'll get bought and they'll keep me on under better leadership.
