Breach of trust

Pros

Great culture, friendly colleagues.

Cons

Salary differs a lot especially in the apex group. It is not based on the value that one brings to the table. Lateral hires / people close to EXEC are being paid way more than the others (how does one explain a variation of 10-15 lakhs at the same level). This is leading to a breach of trust and discontent. This is precisely the reason salary bands are not made public for the apex group (size is greater than 100 and hence there should not be any privacy issues). Company in the field of analytics is failing to understand such a simple logic – market realities are fine but do not penalize the existing set of people. Don’t assume that the differences are not known, if it is not corrected soon the same would show up in work and hence business would suffer hugely. Similarly, there is again no rationale or transparency behind allocation of ESOPs. Some of the great EXEC members have ridiculously given more to their favorite people within apex. Why can’t the company make its stance clear? One key objective is accumulation of wealth (amongst others) and the same is getting mowed down by mindless arrogance and high handedness of senior management.

A company that refuses to learn

Pros

1. Friendly colleagues 2. Some dedicated analysts 3. Helpful admin and IT department but always overburdened

Cons

1. The top management think that because attrition and client losses have happened in the past it is not something to worry about. Good people leave. People who can't find a job anywhere else are left. 2. There is no match what Fractal has capability to do and the work that has to be done. Sales folks say yes to all client requests. Analysts suffer having to do impossible tasks in crazy timeframes with little or no manager guidance. Managers are only available to take credit. 3. Some people work 14-18 hours a day. Many people come in after 12 and leave by 6. Even some top management (SVP and VP level) contribute nothing but just talk and talk and talk. 4. Spends money on air tickets but can't give its analysts a raise. 5. Takes on random clients for short projects and calls them logo wins. 6. Worst HR department. Never ever helpful for anything. There is zero long term plan. Most decisions are completely random and replaced by more random decisions. Fractal is alive because of sheer luck.
