Pros

Fellow co-workers for the most part were great to work with. Opportunity to interface with many different kinds of customers. Starting pay in my case was adequate. Employee discounts especially in the clothing and jewelry department.

Cons

Having to work on holidays. Some of the middle managers lacked people management skills.

Pros

It's a job that pays decent for retail

Cons

Most department managers really don't care about there associates. They stay in the office leave early and complain that things don't get done. One manager even calls in associates early from other departments if necessary so he can go home early. And not just every now and then were talking four or five times a year.

Fred Meyer has great opportunities for sales or customer service experience individuals. I would definitely recommend others to work there.

Cons

Downsides of working at Fred Meyer are having to work during the holidays. Other than that there are no other downsides to working at Fred Meyer.
