Pros

I can genuinely say I like every one of my coworkers. All in all they're a pretty brilliant crowd of researchers, scientists, and commercial people; most are on the young side and easy to approach and work with. Amazing facilities on the Verily campus with a gym and 3 square meals a day!

Cons

We're working on tackling cancer by merging machine learning and genomics... two very complicated fields, which naturally entails challenges both forseen and unforeseen. People put a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed.

Pros

The pay and benefit are good. Google food and facility.

Cons

Amateur-level science and product. There are many manager-wannabes without adequate scientific training and experience. They can be very arrogant and condescending but, unfortunately, also hold some tribal knowledge. The company is on a very tight timeline, so there is no time to solve issues, which the amateurs created, that will undoubtedly backfire in the future.

Pros

Perks and Benefits. The lab teammates ( EXCLUDING managers and supervisors)

Cons

Amateur, rude, inconsiderate managers and supervisors who are tripping on their power to the max. No constructive feedback, instead you would see CLAs/CLSs coming out of meeting with the supervisors visibly upset and crying but there's no transparency whatsoever! Instead of taking accountability as managers/ supervisors and figuring out the reason why the team morale is down, they choose to blame people who are working super hard in the lab and make them feel like they aren't doing enough and that they are the problem. The good CLAs and CLSs will end up quitting because why would we put up with this? The Bay Area has plenty of biotech companies but somehow they take us for granted!!!
