Making strides under new ownership!

Pros

The leadership team at Fresh Express has great ideas and always pulls through on new projects. There is room for growth for hard working, motivated individuals, and room for advancement.

Cons

Plant personnel do not respect QA team and are hard headed when it comes to GMPs and safety. There is a ceiling where growth stops; it's hard to get promoted to a management or office job.

The people here are like family to me. Very tight knit and excellent teamwork.

Cons

The new owners who purchased Fresh Express/Chiquita have a tendency to consolidate a job (once a person leaves or gets fired) into a single role with no additional compensation to that lucky individual. Penny pinching is great, being frugal with your spending is the way to go, but taking incentives/additional wages away from hardworking employees...not so great.

Pros

Good benefits package for non-union workers. Big company good place to learn. At one point, a very good company to work at.

Cons

When i first started it was fine, but ever since Cutrale bought this company, work has gotten ridiculously hard to do. It's not that the work is hard but just the obstacles they put on you to be able to do it. It's like trying to work with your hands tied. Very cheap company. They don't provide the workers with the tools they need to do the job. A just get it done company (which I have no problem with but they take it to the extreme by not providing you the tools). In 4 years I have only gotten a 30 cent raise. Employee morale very low.
