Overall good place, but always room for serious improvement
Pros
Great pay, great bonuses, good benefits. People are 50/50. Easy work. Tuition reimbursement is a plus too. The business itself is doing great. They are constantly growing and adapting new things (good and bad). The good people are great, the bad people are terrible. There is no neutral.
Cons
For the most part the people you work with are alright, but the bad people are terrible. They’re lazy/useless and nothing gets done about it. The work itself is easy but there are still lines that are more manual labor heavy and it’s easy to get seriously injured. Managment is a big one. I know of one great supervisor, other than that, they’re trash. They’ll listen to complaints or concerns but nothing comes of it other than your own frustration. The ‘leveling up’ system is a scam. There are rules and guidelines in free to level up but you can work really hard with little to nothing to show for it if you’re not one of the “favorites”. Favoritism is a HUGE issue here. Unless you are a favorite. Then I guess it’s good for you. The PTO time should be reevaluated. I had the same amount of total PTO time (with more paid holidays) at my last job and I was only working 8 hour days so PTO time lasted longer.. There is also very little incentive to stick with this company long term. The only incentive to stay is the pay and the possibility to make way more in production than you will ever make anywhere. In production you can move up to quality and then management but that’s about as far as you’ll go. The 12.5 hour work days suck. I say 12.5 because they tell you your start time is a certain time but there is a mandatory meeting every day half an hour before your shift so when it’s all said and done your 12 hour work day is technically a 13 hour work day. Also the point system is stupid. And needs to be reevaluated. If you call out it’s a full point towards adherence. If you’re late to the meeting it’s a full point to adherence. If you leave early, it’s either a full point or half a point of performance. You get four points in adherence or performance you get written up, six points, you get your final write up and 8 points, you’re fired. But you can blow through your PTO time and then some and still have a job. And your points don’t reset at the beginning of the year, they reset a year after they were obtained. So don’t plan on getting sick and/having 8 emergencies in a year otherwise you’ll be looking for a new job :)
