Pros

I love the people I work with, and my direct supervisor is very supportive; caring for the clients gives me joy. Frontier health has a full-service addiction program with crisis, detox, and in-residence rehab, all in addition to regular outpatient care with strong behavioral health support for co-occurring mental health issues with trauma-informed counseling, psychiatric evaluations and care, as well as intensive outpatient, group, and individual therapy. The pros significantly outweigh the cons.

Cons

The culture has not always been supportive of my work with MAT for opioid use disorders. Staff turnover has been an issue and creates disruptions.

Pros

Clients become like family, work is manageable but can be stressful at times. Some homes the employees work as a team, others not so much. The job is great if you get into a good home with clients that follow rules and know the routine, and if you have a reasonable and understanding house manager, which all in this position should be, but watch out if you get a micromanager, especially one that blatantly lies on you and writes you up for things you never did, or things everyone does, but you are singled out due to your age.

Cons

Horrible management. Corporate has no clue how a mental health group home even operates, or what goes on in them, and they especially will never bother to get you know you. I had a fantastic house manager for many years where I worked, then ended up with a new one that was an absolute nightmare. Seniority means nothing, accepting extra shifts and responsibilities means nothing, you basically mean nothing. Raises are a joke. If I could give a -5 stars, I would.
