Commitment to service, at least in theory

Cons

Seven years and not one raise. Earning same amount as those hired this year. Son in college, saving for retirement. This is just not a job that lets you pursue a normal life.

Good benefits package with paid time off. A good place to work if you have no ambition. Good pay for the type of work.

Cons

No promotion based on merrit, but who you know or hang out with. Too many politics. Department heads fraternize with the subordinate employees. Actually so does the Clerk herself. Not a good place to work if you have ambition. Very unprofessional environment.
