Company Culture Is Going in the Wrong Direction

Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Most low level workers are great to work with.

Cons

Requiring more mandatory time in the office is moving away from work life balance, which many employees value greatly. Many fully remote workers are allowed to stay fully remote - the same rules should apply to everyone but the 3:2 hybrid was a reasonable compromise. Moving to 4:1 is severely reducing employee morale and motivation.

We understand that shifts in workplace expectations can be challenging, and we’re committed to supporting our employees through this transition. Our move to a 4:1 in-office schedule reflects our belief in the power of in-person collaboration to drive innovation, connection, and long-term success. While the policy will remain in place, we’re actively working on ways to make the in-office experience as productive and positive as possible, and we welcome ongoing dialogue to help us do that well. We value your contributions and experience with our organization, and we know that adapting to workplace changes takes time. Please email us at gaf.hrparsippany@gaf.com if you have any additional thoughts you'd like to share.

Pros

- Helpful and supportive colleagues - Easy to work with management (at least within my dept) - Support available for all types of individuals - Offers free training and learning courses for your respective field

Cons

- Promotion approved by leadership, but HR denied the pay increase - HR policies seem to override management’s input and support - Unclear career progression despite strong performance - Significant additional responsibilities without fair compensation - Sexism and frequent talk of politics (US Politics) in the office (we have to go in 4 days soon so I'm not looking forward to being around more of that) - Unclear direction from different teams (some employees don't seem to know how to do their jobs - creates confusion and slows down everyone else. I shouldn't have to tell someone from a different team how to do his/her job, their manager should)

No Mice or Super Hero training material

Pros

I used to say the office is nice until it was over run with mice.

Cons

Upper management needs to go. Whoever created the super hero training material in every conference room needs to be fired. I thought management was supposed to empower their employees not talk down to them.
