      Good Pay, but not worth the effort

      Pros

      -Good Pay compared to other companies in the area -Health benefits aren't great, but other GE benefits and discounts are nice -Very good for leadership training -Surrounded by very smart people

      Cons

      -Everyone is overworked to the point of mental breakdown -Health benefits aren't very good -Too much focus on meeting lofty leadership goals while being worked ragged to meet project goals.

      Beware Permissive “Unlimited” Leave

      Pros

      When GE was one big company, everything was great. Last year my rating for the company would have been great. But beware. Everything is changing for the worse.

      Cons

      Now that GE is splitting into 3 separate companies and GE Aerospace is on its own, everything has changed. That “unlimited time off” has suddenly changed to No paid time off. We are expected to work overtime to cover any vacation taken. They are trying to present it as a “mandatory number of billable hours - 1800 in a year” or call it mandatory overtime. But what it really means is no paid vacation.

      Unlimited PTO is fantastic, unfortunately you'll be so busy you'll hardly get a chance to take advantage of it.

      Cons

      Awful place to move up in the company. You really have to be best friends with your manager since GE is still the good ole boys club. no matter how much they do press release and send out tons of email about how the culture is great or they're progressing with D&I . It's a lie Managers routinely block people trying to advance their careers which in turn causes the high attrition issues. Numerous coworkers are half way out the door. Dying company and the stock shows it.
