Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying working for GEI and appreciate many things about our organization. While we’re not perfect, we work hard to create a work environment that’s engaging and rewarding for our employees. Please reach out to your Regional Operations Manager, COO or the SVP, People & Safety with feedback and/or any suggestions you have on “better and more current management tools.”

We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your co-workers and the experience you gained while at GEI. It is disappointing to hear your sentiment about professional development and promotional opportunities. GEI dedicates significant resources to both on an ongoing basis. For professional development, we have an internal university (GEIU). GEIU offers a breadth of curriculum from professional and industry-based eLearning to our cohort-based Leadership Development Program. GEI also encourages informal professional development and learning between junior and senior employees. With regard to promotions, GEI engages in an annual process to review and reward employee performance, which includes promotional consideration. In 2016, this process resulted in 12.8% of our eligible employees being promoted. In 2017, 14.9% of eligible employees received promotions. In 2016, according to World at Work, a nationally recognized total rewards association, the average percent of employees promoted on an annual basis (across all industries) is 9.3%, indicating our rate of promotion is significantly higher than average. For extraordinary performance, we also have an avenue to consider promotions outside of our normal process. Promotional considerations are primarily driven by employee performance, which includes employees owning their professional development and taking advantage of the opportunities GEI provides.
