Pros

None. The thought of coming into this job weighed heavily on me daily. Many times was the only one required to come into the office while everyone else worked from home.

Cons

The workplace culture felt exclusionary and heavily influenced by an “old boys’ club” mentality, which made it difficult to feel supported or valued as a newer employee. Communication and management support were lacking, as constructive feedback or opportunities for improvement were never provided prior to termination under the explanation of “not being a good fit.” Additionally, I believe my pregnancy may have influenced the decision to terminate my employment, as I was visibly pregnant at the time despite not yet having formally disclosed it to management.

We are sorry to hear you would not recommend GEI as a place to work and thank you for your feedback. We agree that we have good people and a variety of learning and development opportunities (tuition reimbursement, safety, project management, QA/QC, risk management, etc.) while working on challenging and important projects for our clients. While most of our senior staff are accomplished client relations managers, we also have strong technical experts who have advanced far within the organization. Their expertise and dedication have played a significant role in our success and growth. We are sorry to hear about your experience with our benefits. We annually review our benefits package to make sure it meets or exceeds market benchmarks and that it includes innovative benefits, such as generous time off policies and programs that support the well-being of our employees and loved ones. Taxes on benefits, like compensation, are dependent upon local, state, and provincial laws and something we keep in mind while working to meet the needs of our staff.
