Lack of work, lots of favoratism towards young and attractive females. In my time there a newly hired young female was introduced to the board of directors, taken to client meetings, and given better field opportunities. Women given perks denied to others as well (ex: car rentals for conferences).
Moreover, training for fieldwork was completely inadequate. GEI has the habit of giving as little training as possible (to male engineers at least). Female engineers were given one-on-one training with senior professionals/management. Instead of being promoted (flawless year end review, high utlization) was laid off. Advice to others is to be careful. Review has nothing to do with who they decide to let go.
