Steve Rice and Kelly Rice
If these managers still have their job, then this company is still failing at improving their culture. They are psychopaths. Steve and Kelly Rice are abusive and take advantage of young, enthusiastic adults entering the workforce for the first time. They put them in dangerous situations, regardless of what the client wants. The client emphasizes safety, and they emphasize getting as much work done as possible, as quickly as possible. They will fondly recall stories of how they seriously injured themselves in the field and kept going, like that's some kind of badge of honor. The temp/seasonal employees don't get enough pay or respect to have to hurt themselves to get ahead. Nothing this company provides is worth injury.
I have overheard Kelly Rice saying inappropriate things to employees about other employees. Steve and Kelly act like mean girls.... trying to fit in with the "cool kids" by badmouthing others that work for them. They will make fun of women employees who they don't think can "get a boyfriend," and Steve will tell women to "smile."
Neither of them have the capacity to manage people. They lack the courage to express their expectations when an employee doesn't meet them. Instead they badmouth the employee, threaten to fire them, or give them the silent treatment.
Having some time and space from this company has really made me realize what a horrible place it was to work for. Management was terrible. The pay was terrible. The expectations were difficult to suss out bc managers did not communicate.
If you're starting out your career, find an employer that respects you. No job is worth abuse and neglect of your health.
