Pros

Profit sharing at end of year is a plus

Cons

Insane workload and unreasonable expectations. You have to give total loss values based on a flawed system that undercuts the value of a customers vehicle. You are then rated on that same customer giving you a high rating in customer service after you give them the bad news. Its a no win situation.

Pros

Company car, paid gas. Can be used personally. Profit sharing (most insurance company does this anyways) Freedom to plan your day how you feel accordingly. Great start for experience. Decent management and staff.

Cons

Overworked. You're in charge of rentals, total losses, scheduling appointment to inspect cars with shop/customers, and customer service. All this while inspecting cars at shop and writing an estimate. Your company phone is going to ring constantly and you're tracked on how many phone calls you pick up/missed. If you're applying in a small town. This job is great and is do-able. A high populated city get ready to be worked to the bone. Your list of shop per week should be 20-25. 4-5 per day. While writing this I'm 50+. Be aware there are laws and regulation that pressure you into seeing the car asap. Other wise the shop can ask for whatever they like and you're stuck with the bill. Dare take a day off? Go for it. The work will wait for you as well as a lot of angry customers.
