Pros

Pay, if you can resist the demand from management to work through lunch and over hours without pay Estimating the vehicles Learning Repair Techniques Opportunity

Cons

There is no GEICO corporate office in Oklahoma so no one holds Oklahoma management to GEICO standards Local Management have a one size fits all approach to training and will not work with you to customize a game plan to reach your goals They will ask you to work overtime without any pay. Geico pays hourly but on my first week my supervisor tried to convince me the job was salaried and that if i needed to work overtime, it was unpaid. This is a symptom if no corporate office in Oklahoma. You are safe if you are working around a corporate office. If your state has no corporate office, prepare for them to attempt to get free work out of you. They have an unreasonable amount of expectations and the only way to complete the amount of claims they want is by cutting corners or working overtime without pay. They add in more expectations every day but never remove any. The work day is 7.75 hours and never changes but they will constantly pile even more on your plate and then hold you responsible when your are not given enough time to complete tasks

Pros

Stable employment. Fair treatment. Profit sharing. Opportunity to transfer to different departments and different states

Cons

Only promote from within the company so you’re not going to start out as a supervisor or manager. They favor people who were hired as “management development positions” vs someone who didn’t start with the company as that.
