Pros

the pay was good and so was the health insurance

Cons

The gaslighting was outrageous. When applying to be a Bodily Injury adjuster, the role was listed as permanent remote which is why many of my colleagues and I wanted the promotion. Then leadership said we would be remote provided we come in once a month. Then it changed to 4x/month and leadership said it was never documented as a permanent remote role. Leadership will also add on a metric to KPIs and cut the bottom 10-20% and then say "Well while we agree your supervisor should show you how to look at the reporting, it is not in their job description to understand for you."

Pros

GEICO has some talented employees, and there are individuals who genuinely try to do the right thing. The company also has strong brand recognition and opportunities to work on important projects.

Cons

My experience at GEICO was extremely disappointing. In my opinion, the workplace culture had serious issues with communication, accountability, leadership support, and fairness. I experienced situations that made me feel discriminated against and unsupported. When I raised concerns or tried to speak up about issues, I felt that the response was not constructive. Instead of feeling heard or protected, I felt that I was treated differently afterward, which raised serious concerns for me about retaliation. The lack of clear ownership and leadership accountability made the environment even more difficult. Expectations were not always clearly communicated, responsibilities shifted, and employees were often left trying to move important work forward without proper support. When concerns were raised, the focus often seemed to be on pushing work forward rather than addressing the root cause. No employee should feel afraid to raise concerns, ask questions, or point out problems. A company of GEICO’s size should have stronger processes to protect employees from unfair treatment, retaliation, and inconsistent management practices.
