Pros

Some good people to work with, easy work, very flexible about time off and scheduling.

Cons

No paid vacation/sick leave, low pay and company doesn't care about you.

GEM Technology Response

This is an untrue statement. GEM provides a full benefits package to all employees that includes health insurance, dental insurance, short term and long term disability coverage, life insurance, all Holidays paid, and depending on the length of service, 13+ personal days to cover vacation or sick days. The company often pays those days when the Federal government shuts down, and if not allows the employee to make up this time. Joe Easton President

good start but not a long term job

Pros

its easy to change your work schedule. hours are great. pay is good for starting off. the company is small so it is easier to talk to the same person and get answers back.

Cons

not a lot of opportunities to move up in the company. if you have any pay problems its a pain in the butt to get it fixed. the pay is great for starting but its not very good for long term. the management does not really know what you will be doing when they hire you for the position.

Pros

PM's and upper management (owner, VP/FSO, HR) are all awesome. Within the first 90 days, I've already received a 12% raise and monthly commuting stipend. This is the best company I have ever worked for.

Cons

Even though I received a raise, I am still slightly under paid for industry average. However, I understand that to win this contract GEM had to come in very competitive to the client. In return, they went to bat for their employees to the client and asked for more money to fairly compensate their staff. This was a negative that they turned into a positive. Upper management is very solid!
