Questionable management, but has potential to do better
Pros
1. Flexible working hours and structure, Working from home is not discouraged 2. Good exposure to prominent regional clients, particularly useful for junior employees
Cons
1. Work processes and quality standards are not standardized company-wide. UAE region seems to do things differently to Australia (HQ) and other regions who seemingly have long-standing systems to produce their output, Whereas, in UAE: little attention is given to work standards/quality and training new employees on how to do things, at what expected level, how it should be be presented and communicated internally and externally. This causes quality of work to be focused on quantity rather than quality of output - further exaggerated by the immense pressure of having a lack of resources and staff to support the size of projects. 2. Very slow progression, and minimal attention and training given to junior employees 3. Repetitive projects - no exposure to unique and diverse types of work. Not good for early career progression. 4. Major budget limitations - affects new hires, resources and salary progression. This causes teams - particularly engineering teams - to be immensely understaffed and as a result: overworked, and hence, undercompensated. 5. Further on above: Pay is lower than market standard and competitors.
