Pros

Great co-workers, solid healthcare plans (with transgender coverage!) and excellent leave policies.

Cons

Five or six years ago GLG was an incredible place to work. It was inclusive and fun. Then Paul Todd left and everything went downhill so fast it gave me whiplash. New CHRO was a buddy of the new CEOs and the nepo hires continued from there. So many RIFs that the teams are all skeletal, and everything that made the amazing culture at GLG disappeared. I may recommend GLG for a new grad desperate for something to put on their resume, it’s probably fine for that. As far as the company I loved and genuinely enjoyed being a part of? Well that’s long dead. Management is catty and they’re all watching their own backs, everyone is working scared and willing to push anyone else under the bus.

Pros

Smart, hardworking, and genuinely fun colleagues. I made some great friends here.

Cons

Gemma and her besties (aka the C-suite) have truly destroyed the company culture and many of the things that made GLG a great place to work. Everything has gone downhill since the previous CEO was let go—anyone who's been around through the transition can see the difference. They really don't seem to care about employees. They eliminated the live Q&A during all-hands meetings and even stopped sending quarterly employee engagement surveys. I guess our voices just aren't worth hearing anymore. Fun fact: when I joined about three years ago under different leadership, the Glassdoor rating was 3.5. These days it's 2.5 (2.6 on a good day). Quite an achievement, great job Gemma.

Pros

Nice people, good starting spot - job market is tough right now so a job is a job. If you want a more account management/customer success role and you're just out of uni. then maybe use this as a stepping stone.

Cons

Poor upper management Low morale, Frequent restructuring, Multiple team changes, Mid quarter KPI changes without notice Poorly attainable KPIs Micromanaging, Internal politics (senior leaders magically choosing to leave with some only being in job for less than a year), Poor AI implementation to the point it just seems like token maxing with score boarding of how many people are using it - this also led to a website with poorly generated AI videos, A lot of outsourcing to India - when it comes to internal processes and support or even HR you will be waiting and communicating for days just to solve one problem Constant cost cutting Office attendance tracking Terrible career prospects and mobility Role responsibilities slowing changing towards more of a recruiter/call centre role High churn - when joining it's not great to see multiple leaving drinks over and over within your first month Very poor communication from management, town halls seem to be PR for new AI applications rather than speaking elephants in the room. Some teams are becoming really big on being available to clients 1 hr before working hours and 3 hours after working hours. Job is very repetitive and monotonous, some will like this others won't.
