Pros

If you like to work for very little reward, or enjoy talking to people for hours on end without real compensation, this is the retail job for you.

Cons

The company itself is circling the drain with how much debt it's currently in. Because of that, employees are barely getting paid what they need to be, and definitely not what they should. As a manager, I'm not being paid nearly enough for the amount of work that they're requiring me to do, and our employee benefits and perks don't nearly make up for it. Higher management doesn't appreciate its workers and only have money in mind, rather than creating a sustainable base of managers and employees who can actually complete tasks.

Pros

GNC has some fantastic products that allow their customers to live a great life! Very high quality ingredients and state of the art production facility ensure each shipment of GNC brand products meet what's actually on the label. There are 151 quality checks prior to shipping to the stores. Working with your team and encouraging them to exceed expectations can be fun in the right atmosphere.

Cons

Right now is not the right atmosphere, constantly changing KPI's provide a moving target few can actually hit. Core management has a base understanding on how to motivate and get the most out of their sales teams.

Pros

If you are independent, or do not like working with a manager its a good place where you open or close the store alone. this can be a con if you need other employees around. it can get boring by yourself. decent employee discount

Cons

Managers dont seem to care about you, and expect you to up sell every single customer. This is understandable concidering its a sales job, however the majority of the suppliments are not effective and expencive. So you will be ripping people off.
