Pros

good benefits for the area. They don't beat you up or push you down any stairs.

Cons

Management clueless, force employees to work 20+ days straight/12 hr shifts without any thought . Poor work life balance. Glad I got laid off.

Consumer Health Crapshoot

Pros

My legacy organization was terrific. Good people, great products, and a focus on innovation. Management was supportive and there was solid communication and collaboration across functional areas. Benefits were great (e.g., vacation, shut down week, pre-maternity leave, summer hours...).

Cons

The "New GSK Consumer Healthcare" feels a lot like Reckitt Lite. Transformational changes are taking a toll on employees - the "journey" is never-ending. Lack of clarity around precisely who will be part of the new organization has lead to widespread disengagement, and the overly long selection process has destroyed employee morale. When presented with a challenge to the lack of clear direction it seemed to be regarded as bad attitude or not being aligned with the new vision. Summer hours and work-from-home arrangements have been rescinded; other benefits are being dismantled. Work-life balance is being negatively impacted. New organization is extremely lean and extremely flat - questionable opportunities for growth and development. Mediocre compensation and benefits.

Pros

The kinds of work I performed were exciting and interesting with plenty of international travel, which afforded me opportunities to meet new people of different and interesting cultures. I learned a great deal at GSK due to the many types of learning opportunities available.

Cons

Upper management only listens to its favorites and not to reality. Everyone mostly has blinders on and refuses to see some of the blatant violations of HR policies that are happening. Current job cuts are leaving remaining staff with triple the work load with the same pay.
