Fantastic placement year
Pros
Intelligent people taken from a variety of backgrounds. They care about the people and what they can give to the company. Learned a lot during placement year with an excellent social life and an inspiring work environment The ability to move around the business and have experience days with third parties e.g in a PR firm for a day Variety of different projects to work on and you work end-to-end. Enjoyed the project management side and level of responsibility
Cons
Some politics Placement students are overworked My manager left and I did their role as well as my own which was great for personal development but I wasn't offered a salary road. Very little extra benefits for placement students as you're not employed by the company. They don't invest in you to be with the company long term. They just use you on placement and then you move on to other things after uni A lot of organisational change
