Pros

Some of my co-workers are still friends today. Usually not a problem to take a day off. Chairs were comfortable. Could listen to music at my desk. Nature of the work was interesting and kept me around a lot longer after losing faith in advancement & management.

Cons

Favoritism & male chauvinism run rampant. Pay raises & bonuses frozen for years, yet company brags about how much revenue they are pulling in. Obvious outsourcing to India will ultimately replace some jobs in the future. Strong leadership is lacking. Training is lacking.

Pros

Flexible schedule, ability to earn a bonus, decent benefits and casual dress attire.

Cons

Computer system is outdated. Staff cares more about what's going on in co-workers lives than on the actual work product. Staff if highly competitive with eachother and can be very cut throat about it. Dresscode is casual but typically consists of True Religion, Gucci or whatever high end retail is in style that week or else your not an "it girl." Unless you are "favored" by management there are no raises, no communication and you are treated poorly. Unless you are "friends" with management there is no way to advance.

It's a job. A place for a new graduate to get some experience so they can get a good job. A good place to learn how NOT to do something

Cons

Middle management has admitted that GB chronically under spends on IT budget, but then expect to lead the industry. No promotions No pay raises No training No future. CIO _expects_ everyone to be positive abort their work, yet fails to give general staff salary increase.
