Pros

* Fast-paced environment that built strong multitasking and customer service skills * Learned how to handle high-volume traffic during game launches and holidays * Gained experience explaining products and making recommendations to different types of customers * Team-oriented culture with coworkers who were easy to collaborate with * Early exposure to sales metrics and performance goals

Cons

* Heavy focus on upselling memberships and add-ons could feel pushy at times * Inconsistent hours, especially outside of peak seasons * Busy periods (like console launches) could get stressful with limited staffing * Pay was on the lower end compared to workload expectations * Dealing with occasional difficult customers, especially around returns or trade-in values

Not Worth the Love of Games

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Doing what you love, talking about games, talking to like-minded customers, having a small store of close knit people.

Cons

The constant pressure to sell and add on anything and everything. Constant pushing scares customers away. The low pay scale for the amount of work and sales they demand is ridiculous.
