Pros

Good benefits, base plus commission so if you want more money you sell more. You get what you put in. Flexible schedule. Family type environment. Tools provided to provide great service, samples, no charge credit for us to allocate as needed to assist our customers.

Cons

I really don’t have any cons, after having my own businesses I think the ecxpectations are attainable.

Pros

Great customers; used to have great credit offers for seasonal catalogs. Great return policy for customers. Camaraderie good among sales people.

Cons

Salary not enough to live off of. Commissions based on shipping, which can't be controlled by Territory Manager. At one meeting the VP said that we have to complete against each other for shipping? What kind of company does that? Why not try and make sure you forecast better and react faster to trends? Every year, out of stock on key items: Spoons, Tokens, Glass animals. Jumped on trend of Grumpy Cat, then couldn't deliver when popular. Promised new catalog every 8 weeks to support cycle they demanded. They didn't come through. Discontinues programs and items that are annual repeat sales without notice, so sales people push an item onto a customer only to discover they can't get it anymore. Stopped offering great free gifts [large plush] with purchases and substituted with items that people didn't like. Also, bases all territories on same dollar amount of sales: Rural areas expected to do as much as a metropolitan territory that has 4M+ people. As long as sales are $500K, the company doesn't care if the employee really works. Some reps hold large orders and spread them over days/weeks and take unauthorized time off, but because they're meeting minimum, no one asks questions. Obvious favoritism shown by management.

Pros

the salary seemed great and competitive, until you figure out the LOOP HOLES.

Cons

it is a joke compensation that is---and mangement was more like ---a mangeled mess. Manglers have their favorites as far as freinds and the others are on their own to sink or swim. managers spend most of thier time trying to cover their tale and throwing the newbie under the bus.
