Pros

Depending on the store manager's ability to run the store, if great, you can get on with things without any hassle. Good discounts

Cons

Customer always comes first can make you feel like a 3rd class citizen and there's not much protection against rude customers

Pros

Gap was a fun place to work. The in-store merchandising, music, displays, etc. all contributed to a fun, laid back atmosphere. I enjoyed my time there, but after 2 years, I felt like I had grown as much as I could at the grassroots, retail sales associate level.

Cons

1. My managers were incompetent, and often got caught up with the petty gossip started by the sales associates. 2. Always felt pressure to sell customers on Gap credit cards. If you didn't perform (e.g. meet your quota), management would cut your hours.
