Pros

Managers are very helpful in building your retail experience whether on the cash wrap or interacting with costumers. Great way to learn to interact with all types of people and personalities because everyone buys clothes but not necessarily electronics or books and other retail items. Overall it is an excellent first job to build your foundation for retail.

Cons

It is hard to be passionate about what you sell unless you are a clothes fanatic. Other than interacting with customers you may feel bored or unenthusiastic about your job. Pressured to sell gap cards which are credit cards and are hard to get. You do get grilled about it if you are unable to get any.

work life balance can be poor at times, management can be out of touch with their employee's workload, cost cutting measures are beginning to infringe on some of the perks
