      Ok for a part-time college job

      Pros

      Great discounts on clothes at Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy; if you worked a 9 hour shift, you would get a 1-hour lunch plus two 15-minute breaks!

      Cons

      To lot of focus was put on selling Gap cards over selling clothes; difficult to take time off if you are part-time (especially around holidays); if customers asked when we closed, we were not allowed to tell them a specific time - "we close when all the customers leave"

      Management are inept and treat employees like they are preschoolers; ridiculously emphasize the need to promote gap cards over selling the merchandise

      Pros

      Being in IT, the hours are great and the stress is low (when compared to other companies). The pay and benefits are decent. Very little micromanagement and we are free to pursue whatever we want, as long as our work is taken care of.

      Cons

      Being in NY, advancement within IT is extremely limited. The core of IT department resides in California. Because of this, there is very little room for advancement if you are not working California. There are just not enough IT positions available.
