Pros

4 week vacation from the start, cool work environment at the new Old Navy building in Mission Bay, flexibility with work schedule and PTO, industry leader, strong presence in industry

Cons

Very strong culture is almost oppressive and brain washing. Must have passion for Retail Industry. Team mentality can sometimes hinder progress. Goals across organization are not aligned, causing energy wasted on internal battles rather than working towards the same thing. Needs to simplify, fast paced (sometimes too fast)

Pros

The people are the reason and working for iconic brands can be exciting and challenging.

Cons

The leadership can't stick to a strategy for long enough to evaluate whether the strategy will work. They are big and want everything cheaper, faster AND better when anyone will tell you that you can have two but never all three at the same time. The effect of demanding all three from your workers and vendors is that you damage your partnerships.

Easy to move around within company.

Pros

Vacation time is quite generous. All HQ employees start with 4-weeks paid PTO. There are also many opportunities to move around to other areas within the corporation because each brand operates as a separate company within a company. (e.g.) Each brand has it's own president, CFO, finance & merchandising teams. The company encourages movement within the corporation approximately every two years to develop a well rounded skill set.

Cons

it is very difficult to take time off because deliverables are constantly changing. Most employees have a back log of accrued vacation time. For those who enjoy what they do and don't want to move on in their career, there is pressure to rotate to the next role in order to create opportunities for others.
