Pros

Engineering at Garmin is very hands on for every level of engineer. The working environment is tailored for product development. Engineers can make decisions that effect almost every aspect of the product.

Cons

When competition comes, Garmin does not always put their best foot forward. Innovation is compromised for schedule and product cost. Many of the executives are engineers that seem to have forgotten what it is like as a design engineer.

Pros

Garmin has an awesome environment at their headquarters in Olathe. The team leaders / management all started as engineers which makes work a lot easier instead of business majors being managers. Great benefits and they take care of their employees.

Cons

It's in Kansas. Not much in Kansas. A little too far from KC to be traveling too regularly but about 40 miles away.

Good benefits, good work atmosphere, fun products, no dress code, good location if you like living in the suburbs, management is trustworthy.

Cons

Salary is on the low side, most markets served are mature, management does not appear to know how to enter new markets or how to create new markets.
