      Great place to get started.

      Pros

      Position is great to establish yourself in sales or the technology industry. Great training. Reasonable work/life balance. It is a great resume builder, as many of the great companies are Gartner clients.

      Cons

      Most managers micromanage to the extreme. Repetitive internal meetings that eat away at what should be client facing time. Besides in the main headquarters, their is little room to move or for promotion. Work hours are not flexible at all.

      Pros

      Gartner has a great reputation and known as the leader in the space. Most analysts are very quick to help in sales efforts. Pay is good as long as you sell.

      Cons

      Clients can easily take advantage of sales. Packaging is confusing to clients and the price points are extremely high given the industry average.

      micro management intrusion into personal aspects of my life permanent pressure from team leaders no territory management no lead management - poor transparency unability to anticipate risks (ridiculous positive thinking mindset which sounds naive when you face real client issues)
